White Balance is a reflection on how the tools we use to measure and standardise the world influence the way we perceive nature, and the institutional spaces that frame it. This work combines my practice as both an artist and an artwork photographer. I employed the same precise photographic methods from my ‘day job’ to create a minimalist artwork layered with technical nuance. The clean, clinical presentation of the white balance card reflects the structured environment of museums and galleries, while the work itself explores ideas of impermanence and change.
